Windows 10: DVD player software

I have updated our computer, and with latest-greatest Windows the Windows Media Player doesn't launch/play movies anymore. We bought an external DVD player. What software is best to download to get to watch movies via this drive? The couple of freebies I have tried have been disappointing.

I suggest you to use your favorite search engine to search for any DVD burner software and burn the disc.

Burned DVD's Work in SOME players

In that case, it is possible the problem is with the blu ray player not supporting DVD+R disks.

Suggest you check to make sure: it's possible you can overcome this problem by simply burning DVD-R instead of DVD+R. Check your blu ray compatibility list first.
