Windows 10: DVD-R letting me write to it multiple times

I have verbatim DVD-R drives, and when i put it in, it pulled up the "choose how you want to use this drive",and i pressed "like a usb flash drive", and it let me write to it. i pulled it out when i was finished, and i put it back in later. it let me wrie to it again. this is a dvd-r drive. why did this happen?

Problem with write or even recognize DVD-R DL(Verbatim) via Matshita DVD-RAM UJE81

Hello, i have a problem with writing on DVD-R DL via my dvd drive "Matshita DVD-RAM UJE81"... As its written in description, it should be possible to write on DVD-R DL . When I put DVD-R DL in drive
, it makes some noise as its doing something but nothing will happen. Drive is still showing that nothing is in it even it is. Any ideas how to fix this? I hope that i found correct information and it is really possible to write on DVD-R DL with this drive.
The number of driver is 10.0.10240.16384, created in 21.6.2006 by Microsoft. Thanks for your suggestions.

 

No DVD-R drive in device manager or This PC after upgrading to Windows


Hi,

I upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10 a few weeks ago and since that time I don't have a DVD – R drive. I still have my DVD – RW, but the other drive is missing from the device manager and the computer list. What happened to it? What steps can I take to recover it.

Burned DVD's Work in SOME players

In that case, it is possible the problem is with the blu ray player not supporting DVD+R disks.

Suggest you check to make sure: it's possible you can overcome this problem by simply burning DVD-R instead of DVD+R. Check your blu ray compatibility list first.
