Windows 10: DVD-RW Windows 11 can't access this disc

Hi, My Windows 11-HP laptop I tried many times to use the external DVD room But I can't I received this message.I checked the Windows updateI have checked all possible solutions but to no avail.Please, find the picture of the message.

Windows 10x64 Home Not Recognizing a DVD+RW Disc

Hi: I have several important files (mostly documents, spreadsheets, etc.) that I want to store on a rewritable DVD. When a DVD+RW disc is inserted in my DVD RW Drive (D and click on it with FileManager, windows is telling me that it can not read the disc in drive D:/ and prompts me to make sure that the disc uses a format that windows recognizes and that the disc must be formatted. So, my first question is: how to determine if my RW disc is already formatted noting the above situation? Second questions is: How should the DVD+RW disc be formatted, if that is required, what file format structure, NTFS? I am attempting to make use of some TDK DVD+RW discs (e.g., as if they are USB thumb drives). I want to be able to revise the file content and then write-over the existing stored file that is on the DVD+RW disc. IOW, use the DVD+RW disc as a RAM. I've read elsewhere that I should open AutoPlay: So, in FMgr, I right-clicked on DVD RW Drive (D and then clicked Open AutoPlay; but nothing happens. Please help. And, any suggestion to continue this in some other sub-forum of tenforums.com would be appreciated. TNX. Edited: I noticed that "Format" is not shown as an available choice after right-clicking on the DVD+RW icon; whereas each of my other drive devices do offer a "Format" choice. I found several DVD+RW discs here that were previously written to, a long while ago. Each of these discs give me the same error message as an unused disc. It appears that formatting of the disc is not the real issue here. I am now thinking there may be something in OS or driver that is the root cause of my problem. The DVD+RW device hardware is TSSTcorp&Prod_DVD+-RW_SH-216DB, and is using a Microsoft Driver Dated 6-21-2013. Device Properties > Device shows "This device is working properly.". So, I ask for suggestions on troubleshooting.

In order for us to properly address your issue with formatting a DVD-R/RW disc, we'd like to ask a few questions.

• Are you getting any error messages when formatting a DVD-R/RW disc?If yes, what is the exact error message?
  
• Have you tried formatting a DVD-R/RW disc to other DVD-R/RW drive?
• Have you tried inserting other disc like DVD movies or mp3 disc to check if the DVD-R/RW drive is working?

DVD+RW Discs Not Currently Recognized

(My optical drive is designed for operation with either +/-RW DVD discs. I assume that these DVD+RW and DVD+R discs were previously formatted and written to; they are not annotated, and might be totally blank & unformatted discs. ) I just recently began attempting to make use of the DVD +/-RW drive hardware after learning that those important files were not being copied over to my Seagate external, USB connected, HDD. (I use Karen's Replicator v3.7 for copying files to several other drive devices.) Additional observations and questions: I am able to read data on a DVD-R disc that was created by a friend's computer. My own DVD+RW and DVD+R TDK discs are not recognized/readable. Sometimes I receive the "Please insert a disk into DVD RW Drive (D." or the "Windows can't read the disc in drive D:" error message. Is there a settings in Win10 that enables/disables bi-directional writing to a DVD+RW disc? Is it possible that a recent update of Windows 10 has changed a driver and is causing this problem now? However, a search for an updated driver using Device Manager>Properties>Update Driver reports that "Windows has determined that the best driver for this device is already installed." When viewing Properties>Hardware of my DVD+RW drive, windows reports that "This device is working properly." When viewing Properties>Tools>Check of my DVD+RW drive, windows reports that, "The disk check could not be performed because Windows can't access the disk." Any additional comments on resolving this issue of unrecognized DVD+/-RW drive D: is appreciated.
