Windows 10: Dvdram Gu90n

Windows 10 1803 will not detect my cdrom because I can keep recording a cd, but that cd is still blank, it's like windows doesn't recognize the drive. Can someone give me an idea on how to fix this problem?

DVDRAM GU90N Not reading dics

I have an HP TouchSmart 15 that is currently running Windows 10. I bought this computer brand new, and immediately upgraded the system when I started it up. I haven't had any trouble until about mid December. My CD/DVD drive is a GU90N and it is no longer
reading discs. I have tried everything I can think of, even pulled my tech brother and mother into helping me solve the problem. When I uninstall, reinstall and update the driver, I am told that "The driver is up to date", which to me seems untrue at this
point. All I want to do is watch a movie. Help please.

Based on your description, it seems like it is an issue with the DVD driver. It could be due to the DVD driver is outdated. I would suggest you to go to the below link, download the latest version of DVD driver and install the same in compatibility
mode.

HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GT70N dvd player with Windows 10

I have the HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GT70N dvd player in my Asus X55U laptop. It was fine until I upgraded to Windows 10, but now the player is not visible anywhere - no autoplay, nothing - not visible among the drives etc.

In the device manager it is listed as 'other devices -HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GT70N - with a question mark.

I can insert a dvd and I can hear that the player physically starts to rotate briefly, but then it stops again and nothing happens.

I have tried to find and update a driver, but Windows says no driver is available.

I am not even sure it is a driver problem.

Please help
