Windows 10: DVD’s not recognized by Blu-ray Matshita BD-MLT UJ272Q

Is there an updated driver for Matshita BD-MLT UJ272Q, windows 10 will not read the disk. tried un/re-installing from device manager and still does not read. the operating system shows the hardware/drive (i.e. assigned letter) in explorer but when disc (Bluray, audio, data) is inserted the system does not recognize it.

Is there a fix?

Blu ray disc wont play on my lap top

The built in dvd/blu ray drive which is a Matshita BD-MLT UJ272

Hello,

I am looking for drivers for my internal blu-ray drive (MATSHITA BD-CMB UJ167AM). I am using Sony VAIO SVS131290X model.

Since Sony has discontinued VAIO series, they have very limited set of drivers/software listed on their site for Windows 10.

This was working fine on Windows 8.1. With update to Windows 10 Pro, DVD Writer and Blu Ray dics are not working.

Problem: DVD writer is not working and system fails to detect any of blu ray movies disc.

Tried Options

I have searched over internet but could not find relevant driver.

On Microsoft site, I have find couple
this thread and tried below option

1. Device Manager -> DVD/CD ROM Driver -> MATSHITA BD-CMB UJ167AM -> UpdateDriver -> Nothing Happened

2. Registry editing and restart machine

3. Device Manager -> DVD/CD ROM Driver -> MATSHITA BD-CMB UJ167AM -> Remove Driver -> Restart Machine

With Option #2 & #3, windows failed to reboot and I couldn't fix it using any auto recovery tool.

I had to reset Windows installation twice (once for each option #2 & #3).

Another observation with currently installed driver: Under Driver properties(Device Manager -> DVD/CD ROM Driver -> MATSHITA BD-CMB UJ167AM -> Right Click Properties) section, it shows option to select/change DVD Region.

But it does not show anything about Blu Ray Region.

Any help to resolve issue is much appreciated.

Blu-Ray does not recognize blank disk most of the time

I've got a new computer with Windows 10. The blu-ray drive works for everything until I put a blank blu-ray disk in. Then 99% of the time it isn't recognizde. If I click on Properties, it shows 0 capacity. The only time it sort-of worked was when a pop
up box asked how I wanted to use the device. After I selected to use it as a DVD, it showed the capacity of the disk as expected. But, that only happened once. The unit is matshita bd mlt uj272 s. I've tried bd-r and bd-re, both are supported according
to specs I found online. Any suggestions? How can I look at or manually change that setting that showed in the pop up box?

After many, many tries, it wrote to a blu-ray disk. I would have much better luck in Las Vegas.
