Windows 10: dwm.exe Crash and black screen unless underclocking

Hi guys,

I've had an issue for quite some time with a singular game-- DCS World. Any time that I load into the world on either multiplayer, or single player regardless of entering a plane or not, my GPU light turns off, its fans spin up all the way, and my monitor black screens with the only way of getting my computer back under control being to shut it down and restart. When I check reliability history after restart, it indicates a Live Kernel Event and no crash for the game, but instead shows that dwm.exe crashed first which caused the system to shutdown. Crash log is below. My PSU is an 850w gold rated and has been RMA'd, as has my GPU and even my entire computer since it was originally a prebuilt custom PC.



However, by underclocking my GPU by 140+ mhz current profile I use has it underclocked by 142 mhz, I can run the game no problem at all . While the framerate is probably slightly lower than it should be I wouldn't know, never got it to run without underclock, I am more concerned that there may be a bigger issue at hand, or just something I'm missing in the bios or power options.


Before someone says the issue is related to the game, I have been in contact with developers of the game and have have tried to have others recreate the issue but they cannot. I have also replaced all of the hardware even the SSD so i don't think that is a problem either. I have even tried booting in different households in case its an issue of power supply in the house.




I've tried the following:

• Clean install of windows on fresh SSD
• wiped SSD and HDD second SSD is brand new and the issue preceded this
• Reinstall Graphics Drivers using DDU in safe mode
• Turn on and off "CPU Game Boost" in BIOS
• Enabled XMP Profile
• Ran DCS at lowest possible graphics, still had the same crash.
• Ensured all settings are for performance, not power saving in NVIDIA control panel
• Flash BIOS
• RMA GPU, PSU, RAM
• Try in different household

Let me know if there is any more info I can provide, and any help is appreciated greatly :

DWM crash (black screen on login) in shcore.dll on every Samsung NP300

None of this help. DWM keep occasionally crashing before login with permanent black screen (until next successful boot).

Drivers are all up-to-date.

Have several Samsung NP300. After updating to 1709 all of them wouldn't launch with black screen and loading animation. Occasionally they would launch, but not often. When trying to switch user, black screen again.

Tried to switch off Intel HD3000, which could be related, but It wouldn't work solely with Nvidia. Still launches on Intel with Basic driver. This only happens when trying to login. Once
occasionally logged it works unless trying to switch to other user.

Any ideas how to make them to work stable? It's Windows 10 Home.
