Windows 10: DWM.EXE using up lots of VRAM

    DWM.EXE using up lots of VRAM


    I've trying to get started use VR/WMR and I've had some issues with X-Plane, the app I am using so I've been tweaking and looking at VRAM usage. The dwm.exe is using up a ton of VRAM, like 6Gb and given I've only got an 8Gb card that's most of it. I'm trying to figure out if this is normal or if there is a way to get rid of a major portion of that so X-Plane can use it.


    I'm using an Nvidia 2080 SUPER with 8Gb of VRAM and both Win10 and the GPU are current on their drivers.

    I performed the suggested actions, but unfortunately no result. I just repeated the troubleshooting but no results.

    This morning the same occurred DWM took lots of CPU and UI is slowing down to unworkable. It took 10-15 min and then is was normal again.

    Is there Anything I can Do?

    I performed the suggested actions, but unfortunately no result. I just repeated the troubleshooting but no results.
