    i dont know how to fix thisignore firefox processat idle with nothing open i use 70% of ram just from dwmnothing appears on task manager so i have to see it on process hacker

    Why does Win 10 Desktop Window Manager use so much memory 5+GB

    Why does Windows 10 Desktop Window Manager consume so much memory? What is it doing with all that RAM? I have 16 GB of RAM and DWM is consuming 5+GB of it.

    That's what the auto setting will do since you're over the 1333 mark it jumps to the next step which isn't listed or officially supported I assume by that ram.

    At this point though I would suggest dropping the multi one step or .5 so that we can get something stable and possibly take the heat issue out of the picture for now.

    Desktop Window Manager Memory Leak

    I understand that you can not see in trace the total depletion of memory
    in 5 minutes. As initially informed
    the depletion occurs just over 2 hours of
    increased consumption by DWM.

    Next image show DWM with 13 GB virtual memory committed and using 3 GB RAM! This never happen before Win10 anniversary update.

    See trace image below, DWM committing more and more virtual memory over 1800 seg and "Zero and Free Lists" dropping (first ETL archive).

    The problem really exists, no matter how we call it.

    I thank you for your interest in helping until now.

    Is there anything else I can provide in order to find solution to this problem that must
    be affecting thousands of other users
