Windows 10: Dynamic data exchange DDE Issue

HiWe had Workstation With Windows XP with DDE server and SCADA system Supervisory control and data acquisition works as DDE Client, it was working good and communication was very good.issue:We upgraded Windows XP to Windows 10 With the same DDE server and the same SCADA system Supervisory control and data acquisition that previously Worked as DDE Client with Windows XP. The communication failed and there is no connection between DDE server and DDE Client. We wonder if there are any security setting in Windows 10 to open the communication between DDE server and DDE Client

I have found the fix as follows:-

Resolution

To resolve this problem, try the following methods, as appropriate, in the given order. Method 1: Ignore DDE
This problem may occur if the Ignore other applications that use Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE) check box in Excel options is selected.

When you double-click an Excel workbook in Windows Explorer, a dynamic data exchange (DDE) message is sent to Excel. This message instructs Excel to open the workbook that you double-clicked.

If you select the "Ignore" option, Excel ignores DDE messages that are sent to it by other programs. Therefore, the DDE message that is sent to Excel by Windows Explorer is ignored, and Excel does not open the workbook that you double-clicked.

To correct this setting, follow these steps:

• On the Tools menu, click Options.
• Click the General tab.
• Clear the Ignore other applications that use Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE) check box, and then click
  OK.

 

Is DDE still supported by Creator?

Hello James,

DDE or Dynamic Data Exchange is supported in the Creator's update. It's already enabled so it does not require ongoing user interaction.

Acrobat failed to connect to a DDE server

Here, this issue could occur if you have installed any security program on your computer you may get this error message.



Try to turn off the on-access scanning for the application control policy in your security program and check for the issue.
