Windows 10: Dynamic Lock says can't find phone, but it's connected and working via Bluetooth + it's a...

Dynamic Lock always seems quite buggy. Seems to have at least intermittent problems on every PC I've tried to use it on. Love the concept, but if it doesn't work, MS should remove it from the OS or, if this works for some users, mark it as a Beta feature use at your own risk. The phone is correctly connected to the PC via Bluetooth. I can even make calls from the PC using PhoneLink and that uses Bluetooth for the audio. Obviously, there is not a Bluetooth problem. Restarting the PC has no effect. Running Windows 22H2 this PC won't upgrade to 23H2 yet, build: 22621.2715.Intel Bluetooth driv

Dynamic Lock using Phone

Hello battykoda,

Dynamic Lock using the Bluetooth signal from the phone to determine when it's out of range and locks the PC.

It could be an issue of losing or turning off Bluetooth on the phone.

Dynamic lock is a feature in Windows 10 which allows you to use devices that are paired with your PC to help detect when you’re away, and lock your PC shortly after your paired device is out of Bluetooth range. This
makes it more difficult for someone to gain access to your device if you step away from your PC and forget to lock it. For more information, see
Lock your Windows 10 PC automatically when you step away from
it.



It could be possible that a device such as mobile phone connected to your computer is not within the Bluetooth range that is the reason you are seeing this message. In case you had your phone connected to the computer and seeing
this message, to fix this, just go to Start >> Settings >>
Accounts >> Sign-in options >> Dynamic lock and select
Scan for device.



This will automatically detect the phone and connect it back. Make sure the device is in range and Bluetooth is turned on.
