Windows 10: E-mail threat.

Please excuse me for my not being so sharp on this one and asking for some help.

I just took a look at the log/blog entry at the site you identified and this is the link, by the way:

I only provide that because of what comes next from me.

The information they are providing seems to be leaving out any identifying information about where that email came from.

I ask about that and make note of that because I was wondering why a decent spam filter couldn't have picked up that the message belonged in the spam folder. And the reason I was concerned was because I assumed the reason that bad email didn't go into a spam folder was because of some clever style that could be a warning of a new player in town that was smart and so dangerous.

But I do not see any information that could help me.

Maybe I should take this a step further, so you'll understand I am not feeding you folks bovine excrement as to how I operate.

I regularly collect information about spam. I don't share this information with anyone because I suppose I am not even sure why I am doing this. Well, I collect it from various accounts, that sometimes allows me to find different bits of information and then I use that to create better filters that I then use in many accounts. I have a lot of email accounts.

But let me show you one account's recent file.

That comes from a file with a tag of '191116b' so that means the 16th of this month, not so long ago.

All those went into the spam folder for that account, so no big problem; except for me logging all that information as you see above and doing with it as I usually do. And I look for the odd one that stands out as being a tad exceptional in some way and so can be an alert to trouble down the road. And so on.

So why is it we are not being given any information as to where that bad email message came from? Or any other information that might help.

It just seems a tad odd that identifying information as you see in my log above isn't provide by that site's management where you pointed us to, dencal.

Or am I missing something so obvious the badge of stupid on my cap should remain another week?

How do I delete an e-mail account and add it again in Windows 10 Mail

I'm using Windows 10 Mail and a box appear saying that my e-mail account and setting are outdated! I never knew and e-mail account can be outdated etc when you're always using it etc. I have ahd this e-mail for so many years now. Another box appeared with
my e-mail on it and a box to type in my password to verify my account. I typed in my password but it couldnt verify it. So, the next suggested the box had was for me delete my e-mail acount and add it back again. How do I go about doing this? Please list rhe
step by steps please. Thanks!

 

Block e-mails

to block the senders please follow these steps

open the message you want to block.

Add the sender to the blocked senders list.

In Windows Live Mail, choose Actions→Junk E-Mail→Add Sender to Blocked Senders List.

In Windows Mail, choose Message→Junk E-Mail→Add Sender to Blocked Senders List.

In Outlook Express, choose Message→Block Sender.

Click the Yes button or click OK.
