Microsoft account cannot sign in in on own computer "Oops something went wrong"

I get a message multiple times per day that there's a problem with my microsoft account and that I need to fix it. I try to log in with *** Email address is removed for privacy *** but that account doesn't even exist anymore. Despite its nonexistence I can't delete it from my list of accounts.
So I try signing in with *** Email address is removed for privacy *** and then I get the message: "Oops, something went wrong. This service isn't available right now-please try again later" Every single time I try to log in I get this message. For months I've had this issue. I can log into
my account just fine on the website so I know it's not on my end. I do not need to change my password.

The message I got when trying to sign inCan't delete the gmail
    account

My sign-in email is inextricably linked to the wrong account.

What you're experiencing is that the aol is your Windows device alias, which is separate from your Outlook acct which is for MS services but can also serve as your device id. If you bought a 2nd PC, at setup, you could add your Outlook email as the alias and the new PC would be added to your list of devices (see top tab in your post 5 screenshot). I have 6 devices listed which are mine and ones that I support for others. But if you tried to use the aol address, you'd go thru all the steps, all over, that you did with the first PC.

In the screenshot in post 5, is the 2nd blacked out box simply your name w/no email? Also, when you click 'Add email' under that, do you get this screen? and can you add your existing outlook address? (see post end)-

if you can, then go back and click 'remove' next to aol primary alias and you should be set. If not, take a hammer to this- go to Settings/Accounts/Your info/Manage my MS account which will open a web page like this-

Each time I sign into my email account I get "Oops something went wrong. What's the tech... 341027d1626791981t-my-sign-email-inextricably-linked-wrong-account-screenshot_2.jpg

is the @ under your picture in upper-L aol or outlook? Then go to Device list, click your computer, on next page under 'Manage' click remove computer. That should kill the aol alias once and for all. You should now be able to sign in with outlook address as primary alias for your PC, as the 2nd name w/o email indicates you set up a Local account at some point.

My sign-in email is inextricably linked to the wrong account.

Thanks again. I went to: Change the email address or phone number for your Microsoft account/Manage how you sign in to Microsoft

This didn't work. The screen capture above is when I entered the Outlook information accidentally . When I enter the AOL information like you said to (I missed that the first time), I still get:

Each time I sign into my email account I get "Oops something went wrong. What's the tech... 340887d1626654061t-my-sign-email-inextricably-linked-wrong-account-your-info-windows-try-1.jpg

There's no Outlook option shown or given, and when I try to add another email (the Outlook email) it just tells me that that email is all ready taken, and doesn't do anything. The Sign-in Preferences doesn't help, it doesn't list the Outlook account as actually being there. It just shows the AOL address, and then the name of the AOL address without the @ information.

I must be missing something. Sorry!

Is this possibly because I do have the Outlook account on my computer and there is no way to move aliases from one Microsoft account to another?
