  1. Earbud/headset microphone not connecting?

I've had this problem for a while. No headset or earbud microphone will work. I've only gotten a camera microphone to connect to it. I know the microphone works, and as of trying to connect it again, I'm using AirPods Pro 2nd Gen. I don't even see the choice for Airpods microphone inside of the Sound setting in Settings, and when I do and test it, it just says 0% total volume detected or something like that, When I go to something like Discord to look for that microphone setting, it's not there.

    :)

    Laptop won't detect built-in mic on headsets/earbuds

I'm running Windows 10 home on a Lenovo Ideapad laptop, and it doesn't detect the mic on any of my headsets/earbuds. I can hear playback fine on my headsets/earbuds, but it can't speak through them, since it insists on using the laptop's internal mic. This results in my typing/mouse clicks all being captured on audio.

    • In sound properties recording tab, I just see "microphone (Realtek high def audio)" and "stereo mix (Realtek high def audio)"
    • In sound properties playback tab, I just see "speakers (Realtek high def audio)", yet I hear audio fine on my headsets/earbuds?
    • In device manager, it doesn't detect a headset either, displays the same list as the recording tab
So do all 3 of my headsets/earbuds have some kind of "plug and play but stays invisible to the OS" feature? One of them is the default Apple earbuds, I'm 100% sure there's a mic on there and these are brand new, so they aren't broken. Are these not supposed to appear as a "headset" device with the headset icon in sound properties?

    Apple Headset/Microphone not working

Sound quality issue is often related to people turning their microphone levels too high.

My microphones don't record my voice as loud as I speak

Your android headset or your apple headset stop working in January? It's not clear from your answers.

Your IT people should be able to figure out realtek driver issues and microphone sensitivity/volume issues for your android headset. Figure that out first.

You are chasing some faraway apple headset issue. Is your IT manager using the same laptop? Is it really the same apple headset? iPhones don't have audio jacks for a while and there are earbuds with volume controls and there are earbuds without. They look mostly the same.

    Earbud/headset microphone not connecting?

No earbud or headset will work as both speaker and microphone - used to, doesn't anymore

    Hi,

I have Jabra 65t bluetooth earbuds which I've used with Windows 10 and Windows 11. I could connect these and they would work seamlessly

as a speaker and use the microphone in the earbuds to record audio and to have Teams or Zoom calls.

This stopped working a few months ago for some reason. This happens with ALL earbuds I buy, not just Jabra. Any brand earbud or headset

which should work as both speaker and microphone. I've tested it with Samsung Buds, Sennheiser (an actual USB telephony headset with

microphone arm which would not work as both speaker and microphone) and cheaper JLab bluetooth buds.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled. I've disabled Headset in Device Manager to see if this was a conflict but made no difference. There are no

'older' drivers I can use as they are plug and play and based on Windows sound/ audio drivers.

What can I do to get this working, it's ridiculously frustrating as something that worked perfectly no longer works at all and it's really

    impacting my ability to work.

    Thanks,

    Juli
