Windows 10: earphones not working properly

I just recently got a windows 10 pc and when i plug in my earphones it comes up with realtek audio console, when I select headphone and press ok, no sound comes through my earphones, also when i wright click the little sound box in the bottom wright hand corner and press open volume mixer and then select a device, the speaker option does not appear. however when i restart my pc with the earphones still plugged in the earphones work, and also when i go to the volume mixer the speaker device option is there, but when i unplug my earphones and re-plug them i don't hear any sound and in the volume mixer there is no option for speaker.


also when i go to troubleshoot and pick the speaker option it says plug in the speaker or headphone when it is already plugged in


it seem that the pc only detects the earphones when I restart the entire pc with the earphones still plugged in


why is this? thankyou

Earphones not working

Recently received my Windows 7 / Samsung Focus phone. All setup and syncing music and even adding NetFlix with no problems. However, when I plug in the earphones...the sound continues to come from the phone speaker. The earphones
do not have any sound output to them. I'm trying to figure out if this is a hardware issue or if there is something that I haven't found yet related to enabling the earphones.

Any Suggestions?

 

Earphones Don't Work


My apple earphones used to work on my Surface 4, but one day the sound suddenly stopped working. I deleted the Realtek driver and redownloaded it and that seemed to work. But when I put my earphones in, nothing will play although it keeps saying that it's working properly. I've made sure that it is set as the default device. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

 

Sound Isolating Earphones

Sound Isolating earphones preferred as I already have a good pair of cans, but open to all suggestions.
