  1. Easiest way to install a fresh copy on a new drive?

So, my friend is selling me his old PC with a copy of Windows on it. It's obviously going to be a fresh install, however it's installed on an HDD. I've purchased an SSD to use as a boot drive, and I'll use the HDD for extra storage etc., you know the drill.

I understand that Windows will automatically assign the licence of Windows to the hardware of the system. Does this mean that if I use the USB installation media, I'll be able to install the same version of Windows 10, and it'll automatically activate?

If not, what's the best way to do it? I obviously don't need the copy of Windows on the old drive, since it'll be formatted.

    Appreciate any help.

Replacing old hard drive, need way to copy Windows installation across

    Hey Guys,
What would be the best way of copying/imaging the entire contents of an old system drive over to a replacement hard disk for the same machine? I need to copy the Windows installations and all other data to the new drive, and then format the old drive to use as a backup.

Any suggestions? *Smile Easiest way to install a fresh copy on a new drive? :)

Easiest way to install a fresh copy on a new drive?

How to move Windows 10 OS to another Drive (safest & Easiest way?)

I used the disk cloning software that came with my Samsung SSD. What brand did you get? There are various disk cloning packages available and many of the SSD brands come with them. I'm sure someone will suggest their favorite.
