Easiest way to set up a task/script to delete & merge a reg entry?

Here is what im trying to accomplish. Someone much more versed in such things might be able to point me to the best/least cumbersome/intrusive way to go about this.

I have been backing up my

    Code:
    key for ages now.

Windows likes to update onedrive and rape my dropbox overlays. dropbox likes to update and rape my tortoisesvn overlays. etc etc.

Good grief we need to have that arbitrary limit of 15 overlays removed in todays day and age.

    Nonetheless - its not.

So every so often out of habit or when i notice a problem, I navigate to that key and delete it. It presents an error due to the EnhancedStorageShell subkey which is fine, as it deletes everything else.

I then navigate to my backed up/how I want priority ordering regfile and merge it. Also gives me some arbitrary error due to the aformentioned, but the important stuff gets merged.

This puts things back in order for a random/undetermined by me; amount of time.

I'd like to circumvent this awfulness by setting up a task to run. I dont know if it needs to point to a batch file that deletes the key and merges the backed up regfile, or if theres some other way.

Either way i have no idea how to create a batch file that deletes a key/adds a file.

would it be as simple as creating a task to run a two liner at a particular time that is

    Code:
if so, would it do so behind the scenes/without presenting the error that pops up saying "some keys couldnt be deleted and/or merged or whatnot due to the elevation surrounding EnhancedStorageShell as this is important for obvious reasons Easiest way to set up a task/script to delete & merge a reg entry? :)

    :)

  2. E63 contact merge

    Hello.

This is my next step in trying to organise my contacts in my new E63. It seems at some point the phone has downloaded my Yahoo contacts list and merged them with the phone contacts list, which is great. Except it hasn't exactly merged them; it's just added
the two lists together, so I have mutliple entries for the same contact, in most cases one entry for the email address and one for the phone number. I'd like to have one entry per person containing both their email and phone numbers.

After a langthy and very frustrating conversation with a nice enough lady at Nokia Support who unfortunately doesn't really understand English, the apparent answer is that the only way to get the email and phone number joined under one contact for each person
is to go through each contact manually adding the detail and then deleting the superfluous contact. Is that really the case? Is there no way to get the phone to automatically merge identically-named contacts?

    Thanks in advance,

    Luke

  3. Task scheduler user account list includes user accounts that have already been deleted from the computer.

Thanks for providing the results of the troubleshooting steps we provided. Since the credentials are still showing up in task scheduler, we suggest that you follow the steps below to check the entries in the credential manager and delete the entries manually:

    • Type the words Credential Manager in Cortana or the search box.
    • From the list of results select Credential Manager
    • From this screen, you can manage Web Credentials and
      Windows Credentials
      .

Once you have the screen open verify if any of the credentials you saw in task scheduler is present and manually delete them.

    Regards.

Easiest way to set up a task/script to delete & merge a reg entry?

This is what I get when trying to merge this .reg entry

Hello Kevin, Easiest way to set up a task/script to delete & merge a reg entry? :)

It sounds like you may have an issue with merging all .reg files. Do you have an issue merging any other .reg file to verify?

If so, then use OPTION SEVEN in the tutorial below to set .reg files to open with Registry Editor (C:\Windows\regedit.exe), and see if you are able to merge afterwards.
