    Have you tried to use a portable tool to format the card while it was in the laptop, then put into the desktop? What happens if you pull the SATA cord off of the old drive installed?

    Haven't actually installed it yet. I'm going to just pop the drive in, move my Blu-Ray writer to Port 4, and then boot up. I'm expecting to see the drive in Disk Management and be able to format/assign a letter to it.
