Windows 10: Easy way for character accents on Windows 10?

Discus and support Easy way for character accents on Windows 10? in Windows 10 Ask Insider to solve the problem; I'm fine with open source apps if there any that are well known.     Easy way for character accents on Windows 10?


    I'm fine with open source apps if there any that are well known. On Mac, you just long-press the key and are given options for accents. I'm not sure why this feature isn't available on Windows.

    Accented characters on E70

    Does anyone know if there's an easy way to input accented characters (like é en ä) on the E70 with the phone folded open? I would have expected that switching to Dutch would change the input mode such that pressing for instance
    e and ' consecutively would give an é, but no such luck. Right now, the only way of entering accented characters that I know of using the full keyboard is holding the control key while pressing the ascii code of the desired character, which is
    inconvenient even for the few characters for which I know the ascii code by heart. Alternatively, one can close the full keyboard and use the numerical keypad to cycle through the available characters, but constantly switching between the full keyboard and
    the numerical keyboard is'n really my idea of convenient text input. Thanks, René (that would be Ren<CTRL><233> Easy way for character accents on Windows 10? :) )

    Windows 10 accent characters

    I need to use accent characters for the Spanish alphabet. In previous versions of Windows, a person only had to hold down a letter key for a moment and various accent symbols would appear from which to choose. I have done repeated searches and everything
    pertains to older Windows products.

    How do I use the characters in Windows 10?

    • What is the language pack are you using on the computer?
    • When you say that "put accents above the e and o but i can't seem ", how exactly have you tried to use the accents on the computer?
