Windows 10: EasyBCD 2.3 - Can't Uninstall

I've been trying for three days now to UNINSTALL EasyBCD 2.3 and revert back to the "regular blue Windows Boot Menu". After reading several Forums, and searching on Bing (which 99% of the time Malwarebytes popped up) and trying everything (over 20 times) I always get Black, Boot missing Screen. I have Restored (using MR) 20 times.

I DO NOT want EasyBCD on my Computer, have NO use for it !!

You probably can create the boot files and the dual boot menu with EasyBCD 2.3. I do it that way in these situations.

Scroll down until you fine the "Register" button. That is the free version. Pretty intuiative.

I ended up downloading and running EasyBCD 2.3 and even though it warned me that my system was running in EFI mode and it might not work, it did work to restore the bootloader for Windows 8.1, and now I'm once again able to dual boot into both versions.

That should recreate your boot files (run elevated).[/quote] Sorry, Did NOT work. Tried several times. Sometimes "Shut Down" and others "Restart". I keep getting Black & White DOS screen from EasyBCD.

 

Almost everyone on this Forum keeps saying Download EasyBCD 2.3 as the Ultimate Multi-Boot "solution".

But NO ONE knows (anywhere) how to UNINSTALL IT and go back to the original Windows Blue Boxes BOOT MENU.

I had the OEM MS menu for WIN 10 or Macrium Reflect for years. If you use Revo UnInstaller PRO it removes every part of EasyBCD even the Registry entries. BUT all you get is Black Screen BOOT ERRORS and it never boots again !!

EastBCD good for many, but I want it COMPLETELY OUT !!

 

Did you try running the uninstall EASYBCD utility then running the code that cyberrufus posted in a elevated (admin) command prompt?

From an elevated prompt run:

bcdedit /set {default} bootmenupolicy standard

Then reboot.

BTW, BCDEdit is uninstalled but it leaves the bootmenu unchanged. Version 2.3 allows you to change back to Metro menu. After which you can uninstall it.

I've taken a few "Chill Pills", now my Ranting is over, very sorry guys !!
Yes, many times but my Computer always started up into Black screen, saying cannot find Boot Drive.
I couldn't "Reverse" these actions so I had to Restore with MR7.
I even tried Revo Uninstaller, same thing only Green Screen came up on Reboots.
I wish I would have read fdegrove's posting and changed back to Metro menu, then uninstalled it. (DAMM !!)
The EasyBCD menu was just WIN 10, without the Macrium Reflect Recovery Selection.
It then booted straight into Win 10 so I t into Registry and deleted the "folder" EasyBCD. Then I t into Windows Explorer and deleted the folder EasyBCD.

What is (default) in this Command ????
bcdedit /set {default} bootmenupolicy standard

Thanks fdegrove, I ran it (elevated as I normally do in Command Prompt) it said reset successful, I rebooted and it booted into Win 10, NO GUI MENU ????

That's odd. Can you post a screenshot of the boot configuration by running bcdedit from an Admin prompt and one of msconfig "Boot" as well if possible?

Currently, I get the Dual Choice Menu in the Black, DOS like screen, but i need to change to GUI.

 

Your 'Timeout' is set to 0,
Try Shift+Restart from within Windows to change some defaults.
