Windows 10: Edge and Outlook not launching

I don't know what happened but the Microsoft Edge does not launch from the task bar the same for Outlook. I have used the repair utility but still not change. I believe there was a update # 105. It all worked fine before.There are a number of different fixes on YouTube but i don't know if i trust them. I am 70 yrs young and not that familiar with all this programming. Basics are my thing. Some help would be appreciated.Thanks in advanceAndy

Can't open Outlook links in Edge

• Dose this problem occur on a particular website or all the links you try to open from Outlook?
• What troubleshooting steps have you done?

In the meantime, we suggest that you reset Microsoft Edge. Kindly refer to the steps below:

• Open Microsoft Edge.
• Click on More options […].
• Click on Settings.
• Click on ‘Choose what to clear’.
• Select all of them and click on Clear all.

Site links not working in Chrome or Edge

Have you tried resetting your browser? If not, we suggest you to do so. To reset Edge, follow these steps:

  Go to
  Browser Settings.

  Clear
  Browser Data.
  
• 
  Close the browser and launch it again.
  

If the issue persist, follow these other steps:

• 
  Go to
  Task Manager.
  
• 
  Click on
  MicrosoftedgeCP.exe
  
• 
  End the task.

Outlook on Android - contacts

No. Also I followed the steps on Manage suggested recipients in the To, Cc, and Bcc boxes with Auto-Complete

cleared this list (Empty Auto-Complete List.)
disabled the option ("Use Autocomplete list..") and again cleared the list
relaunched Outlook in between
still those very old email addresses show up.

I give up.
