Edge doesn't seem to save "form entries".

I have "Save Form Entries" On and "Form Data" under "Clear Browsing Data" unchecked. Maybe I am just unclear about the relationship between the old "auto complete" and Edge's "Save Form Entries". For instance, when signing in on Hotmail, I expected to be able to begin my login name and see the available choices to pick and complete the entry. That is not happening.

Should I be able to do that with Edge? If so, what else am I missing in the settings? I don't see anything in the Windows 10 settings that seems to affect the behavior. That seems correct since Firefox does that particular auto complete while Edge does not.

To make sure there is no question about it, I am not talking about passwords. I have the password saving feature intentionally turned off. (If I want burglars to have them I will just write them on the wall.)

    :)

  2. In Windows 10 Save form entries is ON but all my forms remain blank. Why?

I can't get Microsoft Edge to fill in web forms even though "save form entries" is on. I open a web form but nothing happens, it remains blank!

Periodic loss of saved login names and passwords

I am trying to save passwords too. Under settings, save form entries and save passwords are in "On" state.

Everytime I log back in, I have to enter the passwords again. When I check the settings, the save form entries and save passwords are showing they are in "On" state.

Also should work if I start typing if it works like auto complete. It is not working at all on anything on Edge, including signing on to Hotmail or even signing in just now to post this. If I use Firefox, it is working, so it must be Edge, not W10, that is not donating the entry. But I don't see any other switches I can set or unset.

You certainly are having a lot more problems than usual for sure, ARYLIOA. You only minor problem I've had is a Taskbar not auto-hiding on my second monitor, which in the past hours seems to have worked itself out. One other minor problem with Snipping tool which seems, again, has worked itself out.

Just to be sure, you don't use a Resgistry-cleaning program or perform Registry hacks, correct?

It may help to post your system specs on the machine you're running 10 on here or fill out your system specs in your forum account. That way others get more of a perspective on your problems.

I haven't posted the specs on my profile since I have three active computers. The one giving all the problems is a Dell Inspiron 660s. 64-bit running a 64-bit OS. I am upgrading from W7. The hardware is exactly as it left Dell, so nothing funny going on inside. But I use a lot of 32-bit applications and the entire install process was a nightmare.

If you haven't peeked at it (long and boring but the final post shows what I actually went through with it):

Solved Repeated Install Failure of Windows 10 on Dell 660s 0xC1900101 0x30017 - Windows 10 Forums

There were several false starts, but it took 9 attempts to finally get W10 installed, and it had to be a clean install. Elapsed time, you know, "Please wait", plus research has probably consumed 100 hours. I began by installing a couple products (Office, Adobe Reader, and Acronis True Image, my imaging software. Things looked good, then the Start Menu kind of fell apart. That is the current battle.

I see others on the way. My compiler was refused with incompatible components on the clean install but on the two machines which were upgraded it works perfectly. My printer won't have a driver available until November so I am stuck with a generic driver for a nice All-in-one printer. W10 refuses to install the driver which is on the distribution disk for the printer, but that very same W7 driver works perfectly in the two upgraded machines.

Who can really understand some of that kind of thing that comes out of Redmond? I am fortunate indeed to have two computers that work and only one to fight with.

Edge doesn't seem to save "form entries".

I take it I am the only one having this problem, and having it on all three computers running Windows 10.

If that is so, please tell me if you have any idea which settings in Edge and/or Windows 10 might be affecting the behavior and which I might have set incorrectly.

As I said, I have "Save Form Entries" On and "Form Data" under "Clear Browsing Data" unchecked.
