If you can't open Edge but another browser will open, then go into it's Settings to try to "Import from another Browser" your Edge Favorites so they are at least backed up.

3) You can reset new Edge in Edge Settings > Reset Settings.

4) If you can't open Edge or if the Edge Reset doesn't work then go into Windows Settings > Apps > Apps & Features > Microsoft Edge > Modify > Repair.

I'll show you the most thorough methods to check for infection in Windows 10 in all places it hides, remove it completely, then check for any damaged system files to fix.

1) To check most thoroughly for infection and any resulting System damage, Download, install and run a full scan with the most powerful on-demand free scanner Malwarebytes: Download Malware Removal | Free Antivirus Scan & Virus Protection Tool Make sure to only choose the Free version.

In the Malwarebytes Settings (gear icon) > Security tab set it to include scanning for Rootkits.

2) If necessary run it in Safe Mode with Networking (to have internet), or Safe Mode accessed by one of these methods: How to start Windows 10 in Safe Mode (9 ways) - Digital Citizen. These require a password and not PIN to access.

3) Clean up anything found, restart PC and then run again until it comes up clean.

4) Then download, install and run a full scan with AdwCleaner: Download AdwCleaner

Remove whatever it finds.

5) Check for anything found but is still left over in Settings > Apps > Apps & Features, and C:\Program Files and C:\Program Files(86) to uninstall or delete them. I can guide you how to do this if there are problems.
