Windows 10: Edge freezes when I try to find and upload a anything from Downloads

Microsoft edge freezes when I try to find something under downloads and I cannot get to what I am looking for nor am I able to upload anything

Windows 10/Edge freezes

Hi, we continue to have issues with edge freezing before and after Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1511 for x64-based Systems (KB3176493). We have reset Microsoft Edge Browser. We also performed SFC/SCANNOW without any issue with and without a
clean boot. We do not experience the freezing with either IE or Fire Fox on any site. We hope helps us. Kindest regards.

I suggest you to reset the settings on the Microsoft Edge web browser to check if it helps to resolve the issue.

Steps to Reset Edge:-

• First of all launch Microsoft Edge Browser.
• After that click on “More action” option which is visible at top right side of the browser and you will see “Settings” option.
• Under “Settings” scroll down and you will see a button “Choose what to clear” under “Clear browsing data” option.
• Once you click on this option you will see list of feature like

• Browsing History
• Cookies and saved website data
• Cached data and file
• Download history
• Form data
• Password.

Freeze when uploading, downloading and saving even after reset  

Line 1 is the ---Problem Event Name---then numerically downwards from there. When two similar programmes are installed,in your case Edge and Chrome,they often compete and cause resource problems,which is often seen as freezes. The only conclusive method of proving a programme is not or is the cause,is to uninstall it,preferably using the maker's own uninstall tool. Which browser is used for the download ? If neither are at fault and system files prove undamaged and there aren't any listed hardware faults,then the only viable alternative which I can suggest is to backup and clean install. Run dism again and check the log,found in ---local disk c>windows>logs>dism. It is beneficial to note the precise time and date of running dism.The log file can be lengthy.
