    Microsoft Edge hijacking pdf as default appears to have been a problem for some years now. Having Microsoft advise how to temporarily revert to the users preferred application is unacceptable.As I understand it, Microsoft Edge cannot be uninstalled and will continue to disassociate other applications in favour of its own somewhat limited offering. This is a clear abuse of dominant power and I advise that I will now refer this matter to the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission ACCC for action.Warren Higgs

    Edge keeps hijacking PDF

    This is only a temporary fix, as Edge continually hijacks pdfs. It becomes quite bothersome when part of your job requires you compare versions of pdfs or edit them. Is there a more permanent solution? I've tried uninstalling Edge to no avail, although
    I suppose I could attempt to edit the registry.

    After installing Adobe reader it gives you option to make it default PDF reader. that did not work. Edge hijacked it.

    Then i went to windows settings to set it up by file type. aslo not working
