Windows 10: Edge slow on closing upon exit ?

Is anyone else noticing that Edge is now slow on closing on exit just since the most recent build ?

How to EXIT (or FILE -> QUIT) EDGE browser?

Far be it from me to suggest that a company the size and resources of Microsoft should be able to design and develop a new browser so that it meets minimum expectations. And, yes, I would suggest closing multiple windows with a single Exit click is a minimum
expectation.

"... they just don't care." That would surprise me, given the hype they give Edge and the fact that IE is on their kill list.

And, you're right, I am using something better. I was struggling to play youtube videos in Firefox, so I was doing that in Edge, until I finally figured out recently it was an addon causing the problem.

 

Microsoft Edge is slow in closing

I routinely clear the Edge and Bing and Internet Explorer, and just today I did run the sfc /scannow. The scan did find problems and repaired them, and after again clearing the edge, etc. the same delay took place after I opened Edge to my Home Page,
and then clicked on an article that was listed about McDonald's in France. Again, or shall I say still, I have the delay in closing the browsing window. I must admit though that I believe this laptop is operating more quickly then prior to the scan. Thanks

I suggest you to perform a SFC (System File Checker) scan by following the steps below and check if the issue persists:

• Right click on Start button and select “Command Prompt (Admin)”.
• Type “sfc /scannow” and press Enter.
• After the scan is complete, type “exit” and press Enter.

I suggest you to perform the steps provided below to change home page.

• Open Edge, click on (…) option on top left corner.
• Click on Settings.
• Under ‘Open With’, select ‘A Specific page or pages’.
• In the drop down select ‘Custom’.
• Add the website/link and press Enter.
• Close and open Microsoft Edge.
