Windows 10: Edge update removes bookmarks and photos

When edge updated on July 27, 2022; I lost all my photos, bookmarks, documents and favorites. How do I get them back?

how to remove all bookmarks from Microsoft Edge

Good!!! Finally I have come up with a serious problem with Edge. I've been waiting for this moment for a long time.

As you can see in my previous post, I used EdgeManage to rid all Bookmarks. Worked 100%. But since I don't use Edge as my Browser, I kept it shut down

This morning, I just opened Edge out of curiosity and there was my Bookmarks across the top again. They weren't there when I last used it. But also, only the Bookmarks (sites) were listed across the top. There were no others, so I decided to import from
Chrome. That did the trick! Now when I open Edge, and click on Bookmarks, Edge freezes. I've tried using the EdgeManage again but that gives me nothing to do.

Under File in Edgemanager, I only see Reload from Edge / Load from Sync Data File and none of these work. I have an idea I've deleted something because when I click on Reload from Edge, I get this error box saying at the outset "could not load from Edge
favourites.

Strange though, when I used EdgeManage last time, it removed all the Bookmarks completely. This morning, that wasn't the case.

Any suggestions such as manually removing the Bookmarks I imported and if so, how to I find them. Or any other suggestions, please fire them over this way. Thanks.

 

Edge Import Bookmarks from Chrome does not work

To resolve your issue with Microsoft Edge, we suggest that you clear your browsing data. Please follow the steps below:

• Click on the 3 dots at the upper right corner of Edge.
• Go to Settings.
• Go to Clear browsing data.
• Click on Choose what to clear > Clear.
• Try to import your bookmarks from Chrome to Microsoft Edge.
