What the title says.Starting Edge suddenly prompts a full screen view with 'What do you want to sync? We signed you in with <my ms account here>'.I am on a _local_ Windows account. My edge _WAS NOT_ signed in to my MS account, and I don't want to sync anything. But Edge decided _on its own_ that it signed me in. I have to click that I don't want to sync anything, and then click 'sign me out' and I can use Edge again. But now, I still have my bookmarks + extensions like vertical tabs for instance are still there. But I have to sign in again to _every site, have to do the cookie-banner dan

    :)

  2. Edge Search Does Not Permit Change of Region

I got these suggestions from the Microsoft Community forum.No. 1 worked for me:

Thank you for posting the query on Microsoft Community. I am glad to assist you on this.
We have reproduce the issue here and we are able to access non-regional search for google using Microsoft Edge.
I would suggest you to try the below steps and check if it helps.
    Step 1:
Clear browsing data option of Microsoft Edge and check if you face the issue. To do so perform the steps below.

    1. Click on the More actions icon next to the feedback icon present on top right corner of the Project Spartan homepage.
    2. Select Settings and click on Choose what to clear.
    3. Check the boxes Browsing history, Cookies and saved website data and Cached data and files and click on Clear.
    Step 2:
I suggest you to create a new user account and check if the issue occurs.

    1. Go to Settings.
    2. Choose Accounts and then select Family and other users.
    3. Select add someone else on this PC.
    4. Enter a user name and hit next.
    5. Click on Finish.
    6. Sign out from the current Account and Log into the new account.
    Step 3:
It could also happen because of network issue. I suggest you to try with different network connection and check if it helps.

How do you prevent Microsoft Edge from automatically logging in to Microsoft Account?

There is, at least, a different way. Block the MS server for MS accounts in your hosts file. This will generally block MS accounts. In case you want to use them elsewhere, create a firewall rule for Edge. If it would still work to log in automatically, it'd at least prove that MS software circumvents firewall rules.

How do you prevent Microsoft Edge from automatically logging in to Microsoft Account?

(As also asked in this unanswered forum post)

    Problem

    1. You are logged into a Windows 10 system using your Microsoft
      Account
    2. Opening the Edge browser creates a Microsoft Account session for you automatically

    Implications

    • Just navigating to outlook.com can get you access to Mail, Calender etc. of the account!
    • Giving the e-mail id to Skype auto logs you in and now you can make calls!

Is there a way to disable this "feature" via a setting in the Edge browser, or worst case, a registry toggle ?
