Windows 10: Edge - when I click on the close X, why don't I get a "close this page" option?

Edge - when I click on the close X, why don't I get a "close this page" option?

IE has this option. retraining is hard at my age.

How to close edge that is locked into a hostile web page?

• if it will let you, click on the 3 dots on the top right and go to settings, under 'open with' make sure that previous pages is not selected.
  
• close Edge using Task Manager
• search for a web address in Cortana (eg type www.google.co.uk into Cortana)
  Edge will open with your selected sit and the dodgy one, do not click on any other tabs.
• close edge in the normal way (i.e. click the X)

Edge should now open normally, you can change the setting back if you wish.

Microsoft Edge - Malicous Page will not close

An error loop has will not close MS Edge. The program will not close normally. If I task manager the program closed, I get the same page open when I restart MS Edge.

• First Screen warning about an error has a phone number. (844) 332-6363.
• The second asks if I want to leave the page or stay on the page.
• Then back to the first screen and repeat.

I was able to open a second MS Edge, and file out this form.

Edge not closing


I have windows 10 professional. Microsoft Edge is not closing properly. I press x and nothing happens. I have to use task manager to close edge. I can browse pages and some functions work. others dont, like i cannot open a new window and No history is being saved either.

I have tried sfc/scannow and powershell to reinstall and re-register edge but that hasnt helped. I cleaned the browsing history too but to no avail. even tried DISM to no effect.
Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

any help would be appreciated. thanks much
