Windows 10: Edge will not play streamed music when minimized

Edge will not play streamed music when minimized, it has to be open on the desktop, from latest builds
This is somewhat annoying, but not a deal breaker.

You probably streaming music, not using your offline music.... That icon shows when you stream for music using mix radio, or the there's a music needs to be played in Internet Explorer, for example the fb chat sound (when you are in desktop version)....

 

Groove Music stops playing music when minimized!!

I have upgraded my OS to Windows 10. But i am facing a strange issue with the microsoft new music app "Groove Music". When i open the app it works fine but when i minimizes it the music stopped playing. When i expand it then it starts playing music from
the point it was minimized. Any ideas to troubleshoot it?

 

That's because it's a Universal App, and all universal apps (with the exception of specific apps written to use background API's for playing music) are suspended when minimized.

Since you're playing music via flash or similar, it doesn't have the ability to use those background API's while running in Edge, so it too will be suspended. The same is true of Netflix movies, or Youtube videos.

You would be better off getting a specific app for the purpose of playing the music you want, because those apps can use the background api.
