    Editing and Saving Office Files

Since I upgraded to Windows 10 I am unable to open an existing Office file, edit and save it. I get popup messages saying that I don't have administrator permissions. I am logged in as administrator. Also, I'm told that the files are Read Only, yet when I check the file properties they are not set to Read Only. Can someone help me resolve this?

  2. Downloading editable excel document

You won't be able to edit Office 2003 files on your phone - these files will be doc. or xls, or ppt files. You'll need to save these files as docx or xlsx or pptx files (Office 2010) if you want to edit them on your phone.

  3. how can edit excel file & save in LUMIA-610, as all files opening can't edit mode?

Windows phones can only edit files saved in Office 2007/2010 format (.docx, .xlsx, .pptx) not older Office '97-2003 files (.doc, .xls, .ppt). It can view the older format, but not edit or save them.

In addition, the Office Mobile app for Windows Phones does not have all of the advanced folmyla or formatting features of desktop Office, so if a complex document uses a feature or formula unsupported in Office Mobile, you won't be able to edit those files
either, even if they're in 2007/2010 format, in order to protect the integrity of the original document.

If you can create, save, and then open new Office documents, then it's probably the case that the permissions on your existing documents are messed up. Right click one of the existing Office documents and go to Properties and then to Security tab. Highlight your user name in the list at the top. What are your permissions?
