Either Dism is not working or scannow is screwed

Scannow shows corrupt files. Dism from a mounted iso says they are fixed. I immediately run scannow again. About 50% of the time it says there are corrupt files, again. How to I determine which is giving me accurate information? I would consider a clean install but the posts I see concerning that are not encouraging.

Help please. Heck I'd even pay for support if it would fix the problems.

    Thanks

    Bob

    :)

SFC /scannow and DISM not working

Ok I will try that, but my computer prompted me to restart to repair it. Now I can't seem to get on because there is no 'Skip' option. I left it on overnight to see if chkdsk would finish, but in the morning it told me to restart because Windows couldn't
start properly. Which meant repeating the process. Any way I can stop it?

EDIT: I managed to get back onto it by unplugging all usb cables, do you think there might be an issue with my keyboard or something?

  3. SFC /scannow and DISM not working

Major file system corruption. I would run it again to see if it has re-occurred and if so the HD may be failing

For the second test (which is more important) go to the HD maker>download>run

I cant tell you which opengl it is.

There was a thread about that. Hopefully that also applies to you.
I have the same issue and I just decide to ignore it. Hopefully the next update will fix the problem since Microsoft is aware of it.

    excerpt:
When this happens, the opencl.dll file is not actually corrupt. It is not necessary that you take any action – the report that opencl.dll is corrupt can be safely ignored.

  5. For starters, unless you have problems with Windows, there is no reason to fix "corrupted" files, just ignore them.
When system files get modified by a software, Windows might consider them damaged, even though, they are not.

I assume that I'll find this in the CBS log file? I have many other issues with this install mostly cosmetic ie. right click not working everywhere it should. Would you think that these issues can be safely ignored? It does not appear to be effecting the main operation of the OS. I have done btw 4 inplace repair installs using 3 different iso files.

Thank you. Would problems be the continued resetting of default files? or the right clicking on the menu that is brought up by right clicking the start button not working fall into that category? I can use commands.

    Thanks

The problem with the SFC scan is, that it only restores system files, but it does not reset registry nor file permissions.

Use ShellExView - Shell Extension Manager For Windows to disable all non-Microsoft shell extensions and see, if it works then.
In Menu - Options - check Hide all Microsoft extensions - to filter them out, then select all remaining and disable them.

Unfortunately, no change. Fyi in the midst of all this I'm fighting the redirect virus. Malwarebytes had me run the same program a couple of days ago.

    I would suggest that .......
    1. Run Malwarebytes and virus protection program you have to make sure your computer is clean.
    2. Stay put and wait for the next update. Microsoft is aware of the issue. So, let them fix it. Once MS finds the solution, it will be included in the next update. No need to mess around with possible fixes.
