Are you not ejecting the card? Because it sounds like to me either you are not ejecting or it is not ejecting correctly?

  3. can not eject CD

Frederik. I didn't even know that there was an eject button on the CD tray. So, I found the button and it works. When I press it the CD ejects. However, when I click on "eject" on a pull down menu on the screen It does NOT eject. Thanks for your help.

    Eject graphic card?

Just a guess, looks like Windows thinks it is a removable device. May need to use Device Manager to Uninstall it then install it again. OR, maybe it's seeing the CD or other type drive that holds the install files?

  6. Nothing like a bit of QA testing eh? Sometimes it astounds me how things make it out of door with stuff that clearly should of been picked up. It's not a direct criticism of nvidia because big players like MS and apple are guilty of this too. But as Slippery has rightly said this is down to drivers from nvidia and can be fixed with the hotfix. My advice is if things are running ok don't update drivers unless there is a compelling need to do so. I didn't update my nvidia drivers on my vista laptop running old 9800 gtx sli cards in about 7 years and saw no issues. My other laptop with amd Radeon 6970m has the Dec 2011 drivers and runs fine apart from a slight lack of horsepower in the very latest games.

I agree. But then I have to keep in mind that no 2 computers are exactly alike once they get into the users hands, one seemingly innocent program makes them different and may screw up one but not the other.

Your right, I know it's tricky but I just found it frustrating given I saw this bug effecting people seemingly by the bucketload so I think they should of picked it up. I get the impression they release driver updates far too frequently for some kind of bragging rights. But maybe many others didn't notice the bug. In any event it's fixed now. The bugs I find most unforgivable are probably those in Apple hardware/software to be honest. They've released some shockers in iOS in recent years (I don't go near their PCs) and they control all the hardware and apps. They don't have the problem MS has. God forbid you complain on their forums as you get warned almost immediately!

Maybe they did. As far as I know, it does no harm. It's a feature to support some external graphics cards (which aren't as far as I know, yet on the market). nVidia may have underestimated the extent to which it would freak people out.

Thanks guys, specially Slippery for clear up this confussing issue. Hopefully it's not a big one.

And just because I am a gamer I usually want to be updated, but as Scottyboy99 stated, newer isn't always better.

    Best regards.
