Windows 10: Elan Precise Touchpad Filter Driver

Windows 10So, I opened my laptop to use it and the touchpad suddenly stopped working. I restarted it a bunch of times but it did not work like it usually does. I then looked up how to fix it and in the device manager, the Elan Precise Touchpad Filter Driver was hidden. Therefore, I uninstalled it and reinstalled it but it won't show up again. It doesn't show up there anymore and my touchpad still doesn't work. How do I fix this? Also, I do have a mouse that has USB, and I mainly use that. So when I use the mouse, the touchpad sometimes doesn't work. But restarting it does the job usually. Now

Elan c12 filter driver not working

i have checked that the elan c12 filter driver installed is correct from Acer support website for my machine and it is correct version but date is different on my install it is 23/4/2019 and under Acer driver download it is 18/8/2015. Also what is strange
is when i check in task manager in processes ETDservices.exe is missing. This elan c12 filter driver is listed in setting>apps& features and device manager .Also listed in control panel as ELAN HID12C filter driver X64 13.6.31_WHQL .There is definatley no
elan tab at end of mouse properties last one is hardware tab.

 

Do I need ELAN Filter Driver

Hi John, I came late to the party as I just saw it on my new laptop's program listing. After a bit of digging around it appears that it is a driver for the Elan brand touchpad included in this machine's build. So my thought is if you have a Elan brand
touchpad, keep the driver.

 

From ELAN to Windows Precision drivers

I read some tips online that alloud me to switch from the elan drivers that i have on my Windows 10 notebook to the more accurate Windows precision one. Can you tell me if is it really possible? because i fell so bad with my touchpad (HP Pavilion 15-cb028nl).
