    ELARA App preventing shutdown

    I have the Elara virus in my Laptop. It prevents WiFi connections and causes other Apps not to function properly. Recently I upgraded my Laptop from Win 8.1 to Win 10 and Elara appeared a couple of weeks later. I am now doing a full System Scan with Avast.
    If that does not work I will try Windows Defender. Obviously I am using my Desktop PC Win 10 to post this memo.

    Today (16 December at around 5.15 pm), due to the very slow functioning of all my web-browsers and constant frozen screens, I tried restarting my computer but it was not able to shut down instantly. I saw a message which said, "Elara Application if preventing
    the shutdown" and I was given the option to cancel or do nothing. I waited for it to shut down and re-start automatically. After restarting, I went online to check what Elara Application was and I was surprised to know that it was a form of virus As far
    as I can remember, I did not install any undesirable application and this is the first tme I have heard of Elara. How can I get rid of this nuisance which may steal all sensitive information from my computer or when I log-on to sensitive information on-line?

    Ever since I have got the free Windows 10 upgrade, my computer has slowed down a lot and this frequent occurence is causing me a lot of stress. I do not intend to revert to Windows 7 Home Premium as the support will be running out soon. Now my main concern
    is whether my computer has already been infected wtih viruses unbeknown to me.
