Battery is showing 0% (plugged in) but shows no signs of charging

Hi,

I have a HP Laptop 15q-bu0xx running Windows 10 with 4 gb ram and an Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU N3060 @ 1.60GHz, 1601 Mhz, 2 Core(s), 2 Logical Processor(s).

Its battery is having issues and it always showes 0% (plugged in) but does not show any signs of charging and instantly dies as soon as I remove it from charge. Due to an accident, it fell down and the screen broke but the rest of the laptop functions perfectly
well. I plug my laptop into an External monitor and use it. I have tried many methods like updating the battery driver, uninstalling it and then restarting my laptop but none of the methods have worked and I am not able to remove the battery because the screen
is in the way. Please suggest something.

Battery: plugged in, not charging

I have Lenovo Thinkpad T440p. I am having the same issue. Then i followed the steps that you said as wel as the step the following video.
. . After i shut down the laptop, I put back the battery, I tried powering on, but the Laptop did not start. Then i left the computer connected to plug in
leaving the battery inside. Then after sometime when I tried switching on, it worked. The sign showed the battery is connected and taking charge as well. After sometime, The battery stopped charging and the computer stopped detecting the plug in. Please help!

 

Plugged in but battery does not charge

dlchina and freebooter asked, " when at home, if you remove the batteries, do the laptops power up when plugged in? " Yesterday they did not.

Yesterday after I brought the notebooks home they were fully charged, I used them on the batteries and when I went to bed I plugged 2 into electrical outlets this morning they were fully charged, The one I am writing on is now 83% charged - it is plugged in an charging, another is fully charged. I just plugged the other one in an it is recharging.

When I brought them to another location and plugged them in the battery icon said" Plugged in Charging" now it says Plugged in but they are charging. I wonder what happened yesterday?
