Windows 10: Eliminating superfluous software

With any new version of Windows 10, the amount of software tends to increase and this is now a problem for an Acer Switch One SW1-011 bought in 2017. Today I finally upgraded to version 2004 after all sorts of attempts connecting to external drive, uninstalling Skype, word processor etc.. I use this Acer for elementary activities only and it is unfortunate that its limited power and space must accommodate a long list of applications that an old person like me would never think of using e.g, Xbox games, speech facility for imparting commands etc. or that are duplicates of what can be easily accessed via Edge e.g., maps.


When scanning the Settings list, every application shows with the Uninstall button but, for whatever Microsoft considers essential the Uninstall appears dimmed even when, beside it, there is a line that informs us that its removal would not de-stabilize the overall system.


The two a dimmed and unresponsive Uninstall and the information that its removal would not endanger system stability appear to be rather contradictory. So, I am wondering whether, after all, a way exists for getting rid of everything that a particular customer does not need. Is that so? If it is, I would be thankful for being enlightened!

Overclocking / Undervolting guide for Vega 56 or 64?

PC goes into black screen and froze

Yeah I'm pretty sure that's not a software related issue which is why I was suggesting that you remove the video card to start with since it's such an easy process of elimination step.

I'm not familiar with AMD CPUs, I did see that you had listed in your system specs but I had no idea whether or not it has an iGPU

Is there any possibility of you being able to get your hands on any compatible video card at all?it would be the easiest step to try to troubleshoot or at least one of the easier ones. You should be able to get into the bios without anything but A display cable hooked up to the motherboard

 

Eliminate One Drive

Ran the CMD file (As Administrator). Restarted Win 10. Still listed in File Explorer.
