Windows 10: Email address/microsoft account associated with administrator user is no longer accessible....

The email I used to set up administrator on my pc is no longer accessible and I have another Microsoft account that I use that I would like to change the admin info to. I do not want to create a new user because I have a lot of info on this user

Forgot User password - reset email address no longer in use

Have forgotten User/Administrator password, and email address associated with account no longer in use. Have created a new User account with a ridiculous name and cannot change without Administrator permission! Also, want to change new User account to Administrator
... again, cannot do that without Administrator access. HELPPPPPPPPPPPPPP please!

 

How to change Windows 10 administrator email address

I have have a new email address which I use to log into my Microsoft account. However, the old email address (which no longer works) is still associated with the administrator account on my PC. I am the only user and have no other accounts on the device.

How can I change the old administrator email address to the new one?

There are numerous posts on the MS community on this problem but none actually state what to do. I need a step-by-step instruction sheet

Can anyone help?

Change Microsoft Account Details in Administrator Account


Hi Daryl, welcome to the Ten Forums.

It's quite easy in fact, simply switch the account in question first to a local account, then switch back to a Microsoft account, this time using your wife's MS account credentials.

Notice that before doing this you need to remove the new additional MS account on the PC, the one you created with her credentials. Windows allows only one user account for each email address, if the new account exists you cannot switch the original administrator account to an MS account using the same email address.
