Windows 10: Emoji panel visible in text input but not working in any apps

Recently, my emoji panel stopped working for no reason, I have already reviewed several Fixes on youtube and none have worked for me, what happens is that when accessing with the Win + command. the panel is displayed, but when I click on an emoji it does nothing, click animation is displayed, but does not perform any action, when typing to search for emoji, it does not detect text, something that I have not seen in any forum, I would appreciate help.

- here you can see I'm typing using Wordpad (build 1903).

Did this stop working for you after upgrading to 2004? Was it working with a previous build?

Help! Emoji Keyboard not working in any app

I've been wanting to use the emoji panel/keyboard for some time now but I can't seem to let it work on other text boxes except Netflix for windows and the start menu search box. Every time I open the emoji panel it says I can press Win + . to use emoji in
any app. It doesn't show that in the start menu search box. Once I open it in the start menu search box, I can insert emojis and the panel goes beside the text box. Any other text box, even here doesn't seem to work and the emoji panel still thinks I'm typing
in the start menu.

Try Restart your PC

If the Windows 10 emoji panel used to work fine but suddenly it stopped showing up even if you press the keyboard shortcut keys, try to close every opened apps and restart your PC.

Sometimes the emoji panel would get stuck on certain app and stop working on other text field when you press the keyboard shortcut. Thus, a restart should fix the issue.

Change keyboard language to English (United States)

The emoji panel was once available only for people who set their keyboard input language to EN United States. This was, however, changed since recent update and you can use Emoji panel even if you’re on other languages.

If for some reason, you have to stay with an old Windows 10 update where the emoji panel doesn’t get patch yet, you may want to try changing the keyboard language to en_US (English – United States).

Even if you’re not sure if this has anything to do with the Windows 10 emoji panel shortcut not working issue, just try to change the keyboard language to en_US and see if it works.

Here’s how to add or switch your keyboard language to United States English.

1. If you have multiple keyboard input languages in Windows 10, click on the input method in taskbar.

2. Select English (United States) US keyboard.Windows 10 Emoji Panel not working change language

3. Try Win+. keys to open emoji panel and see if it works.

4. If you don’t see US keyboard in the input method list, go to Settings.

5. Select Time & language, then Region & language.

6. Click Add a language and add English (United States).add a language Windows 10

7. If that doesn’t work, try to also change the Country or region to United States.

After changing the keyboard language, you may need to restart your computer. Upon restarting your PC, try to press the Win+period keys again and see if the Windows 10 emoji panel keyboard shortcut not working problem is fixed.
