Windows 10: Emoji picker no longer works on Windows 10 in Google Chrome

I used to be able to insert an emoji in my posts or comments on reddit, or Facebook statuses, or whatever, by pressing Win-Period, then clicking the emoji I want to insert, but now clicking an emoji does nothing. At least in a text field - oddly enough I can still insert emoji in the address bar! So I've taken to inserting an emoji there, then cutting and pasting it where I want it. But that's really annoying... anyone else run into this issue and found a better workaround?

You may find the fix quicker by searching google or another search engine than waiting for a reply. Everyone knows that California tends to think that they are their own country. Unless you are using a non-US/English version of Windows or change Regional settings, Emoji Picker should be working.

 

Emoji Picker ( Win+. or Win+; ) No Longer Works

After the latest big update from Windows, I noticed that my Emoji Picker Window (the window that you can pull up when pressing the Windows key + the period or semicolon key) no longer comes up.

I tried searching online to why this doesn't work, and how to fix it, etc, yet all I found is that this feature is limited to the US English language, in which I already have set up correctly, since I live in California.

I even tried enabling the "Show keyboard buttons" option in the Taskbar (refer to the picture below). When I press an emoji (using this method) it still doesn't show up. The only way I can use emojis is if I go to, for example: Get Emoji — All Emojis to ✂️ Copy and Paste
and copy/paste the emojis from there.
