Windows 10: Emoji popup is flaky

The emoji popup (Win+; or Win+.) doesn't always show up. Can this please be fixed? It's really annoying when I have to press the hotkey 5 times.


When pressing either hotkey, it should JUST popup. ALWAYS and IMMEDIATELY.

This seems silly, but if it doesn't show up, it "doesn't work" which is horrible UX. Anything UI-related should just always work, and must tested to death. It's the part of Windows that lies closest to the user, and generates the most hate when it's crappy. When something really complicated doesn't work, it might be understandable. But a bloody emoji popup is *not* complicated.

Emoji popup stopped working

The emoji popup stopped working. You know, the one you get when pressing Win+>

After a reboot, it'll work fine again, but I don't want to reboot for a popup. How can I get it to work again?

1. When you say “having NO EMOJIS”, may I know where exactly you are looking for the emojis?
   
2. What is the build of Windows 10 running on your system? To check that, press the
   Windows key and R key, type winver and press
   Enter.

How to fix emoji keyboard not showing up using shortcut

Hi,

This issue is often caused by a corrupted or missing data file. To better isolate if this is a user profile specific or an emerging issue, we suggest that you create a new user profile and try to use the same keyboard shortcut to get the emoji keyboard to
show up. Here's the link for the steps on how to:
Set up accounts.

In the meantime, we'll give you the steps for a workaround to access the emojis. Here are the steps:

• Right-click on the Taskbar.
• Select the Show touch keyboard button option and a keyboard icon will show up on your
  Taskbar.
  
• Click the keyboard icon and select the emoji button.
