  1. employing Windows 10 apps

I have now had Windows 10 since Sept of 2016 and will be the first to admit I know very little about using it beyond what is the minimal amount necessary to run Excel and Word as well as online activities. So, with the patience of all involved, I want to try to get to the point of having more knowledge that I currently do and would like to move forward with this question:

In APPS / STARTUP, there is a listing of APPS I presume are loaded when the machine starts up. By each of the listing, of course it shows ON or OFF and below that, with nearly all of them, it says: "NOT MEASURED". Would someone please explain what exactly that means?

Additionally, beside of those that do not say "NOT MEASURED", it says, "No Impact" and that is an app that was accidentally loaded onto my machine it is a long story and I thought I had deleted all this previously but apparently not and just found this app listed today and immediately I turned it off because in the process of accidentally loading it, I found info on it that stated it can be extremely dangerous which is enough to tell me to get rid of it. So now I will delete it unless someone can provide a strongly valid reason for not deleting it. Additionally, I also found iTunes helper as well as iTunes mobil helper which is useless on this machine given it is a desktop and not a mobile device, The first is turned OFF and the second is turned on which I will now turn off.

Any help, education, insights and etc. will be greatly welcomed. Thank you for trying to help this ancient individual about 3 days older than dirt itself.

    :)

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK

    Windows 10 Tweaks

As you may already know, Windows 10 (as well as Windows 8) allow you to log in with a valid Microsoft account, instead of creating a local account that only works on your machine. However, you may prefer to keep a local account for privacy reasons. If you do, though, some Windows 10 features—like Cortana—may not work. Despite the default behavior, the Windows 10 Store is not one of them. You can still log in to your Microsoft account for just the Store without switching to a full Microsoft account. The process, however, is not terribly obvious. To do so, follow these steps:

    • Launch the Store from your Start menu.
    • Click the user icon next to the search box.
    • Click “Sign-in” from the menu that appears.
    • Choose “Microsoft account” and log in like normal.
    • When the “Make it yours” box appears do not enter your password. Instead, click “Sign in to just this app instead.”
