Windows 10: "Enable-WindowsOptionalFeature -Online -FeatureName Microsoft-Windows-Subsystem-Linux"...

Currently trying to install Kali Linux, I've ran in error "0x8000000d".I've looked up on many forum and trough the documentation about this error, and it seems the way to solve it is by running this command in PS with admin privileges: Enable-WindowsOptionalFeature -Online -FeatureName Microsoft-Windows-Subsystem-LinuxI then receive the standard message asking me for a way to open it, which it shouldn't do as its supposed to look for and activate some files.Is there a way to solve that issue?

WSL - Enabling Windows Subsystem for Linux

I have windows 10, version 1803, OS build 17134.37

In powershell as administrator, I run the command:

enable-windowsoptionalfeature -online -featurename microsoft-windows-subsystem-linux

and receive error:

enable-windowsoptionalfeature : the referenced assembly could not be found.

I don't have it blocked in my firewall, what can I do to resolve this?

Cannot enable windows subsystem for linux on Windows 10 Home

I am attempting to install WSL following the instructions at Install WSL

So I opened PowerShell as Administrator and entered

Enable-WindowsOptionalFeature -Online -FeatureName Microsoft-Windows-Subsystem-Linux

The response is

Enable-WindowsOptionalFeature : One or several parent features are disabled so current feature can not be enabled.

That is all the information provided. Do I need Windows 10 Pro? I saw that mentioned with the original beta release, but there is no mention on the web page I listed on the first line of this post or the parent of that page.

 

Issue with installing linux subsystem.

Hi, I was trying to isntall linux subsystem through powershell, and when I tried to use "Enable-WindowsOptionalFeature -Online -FeatureName VirtualMachinePlatform" command, I get a following error,
