This is a weird question, but my attempts at researching what's going on has been unfruitful, so I don't know what to try from here. My computer is running Windows 10 Pro 21H1 with an Intel 8700K CPU and Asus Z370-E motherboard.I was running the Windows 11 compatibility check and updating BIOS settings to get it to pass. I finally got it to pass by enabling firmware TPM, but in the process I realized that Secure Boot was never enabled for the machine. System Information shows that "BIOS Mode" is UEFI, but "Secure Boot State" is Off. I tried turning on Secure Boot in the BIOS, but ran into prob

Here is a statement from a Kernal Developer at Red Hat:

I'm not sure this exploits the legacy BIOS but rather it exploits the legacy boot method on MBR drives, injecting a signed key before the OS boots, which you are correct in that it has nothing to do with Windows 8. And the simplest fix would just be to require boot drives use GPT when Secure Boot is enabled in UEFI.
