Windows 10: Encrypt Contents Disabled

• Does the "Encrypt Contents to secure data" option is disabled on all files that you want to encrypt?
• When was the issue started?
• Did you check if your computer runs the latest Windows update?

Encrypting a folder

Hello Bill,

To encrypt a folder in Windows 10 Home, follow these steps:

• Right-click the folder you want to encrypt and click Properties.
• On the General tab, click Advanced.
• Under Compress or Encrypt attributes, click Encrypt contents to secure data.
• Click OK then Apply to save the changes.

Can't encrypt folder

I followed the
instructions to encrypt a folder, but the "Encrypt contents to secure data" is disabled. Are there any troubleshooting suggestions?

I'm logged in with an Administrator account.
