Hi everyone, I have a problem on windows. One month ago, i encrypted my files using cmd prompt, but i forgottenly changed my OS into windows 8. Previously i have a windows 7 OS. I dont know we have to decrypt the files before changing the OS. But right now my files are encrypted, it shows i dont have an access. It's fully my personal files. After that i worked so many times to decrypt the files, but it shows error on CMD prompt. Please anyone can help to decrypt those files.....

    encrypted files

    Hi Iman,

Error message 0x80071771 means that you need to restore the file encryption key in order for you to decrypt the encrypted files. On the other hand, you can still try these steps and see if it will work:

    • Right-click the file or folder that you want to decrypt.
    • Click File ownership and click Personal.

Feel free to contact us if you need assistance with Windows.
