Windows 10: Encrypting with BitLocker - freezes around 18% & 'freezes' Win10Pro

I'm using Win10 Pro.I'm attempting to turn on BitLocker and encrypt Drive C. It runs till about 18% and then the screen goes black but the cursor is still 'live', and then Windows seems to freeze. A forced shutdown and cold reboot is required.In Event Viewer I find this, which I believe is causing the issue:A provider, IntelMEProv, has been registered in the Windows Management Instrumentation namespace root\Intel_ME to use the LocalSystem account. the program is not responding. it all hung up. had to disconnect the drive.
how to recover a disk? encryption is interrupted. ,
the drive is encrypted, asks for a password. I open the disk and the encryption program opens and freezes by 10%

I suggest you to perform below mentioned steps to disable BitLocker.

To disable BitLocker I would suggest you try the following steps and see if it helps.

• 
  Press Windows key + X and click on
  Control Panel.
  
• 
  Change View by from Category
  to Large Icons/Small Icons.
  
• 
  Click on BitLocker Drive Encryption and click on
  Turn BitLocker Off.
  
• 
  Follow on screen instructions. Click on Decrypt the Drive
  when the message appears.
