  1. End of May/June 202 Windows update caused crashes, slow video rendering, conflicts, etc.

My Microsoft Surface Studio 1 automatically receives Windows updates. It installed the latest update and the system started having problems immediately. Prior to this, it ran perfectly. My problems included 1not being able to close Windows except by pressing and holding the on button for 12-15 seconds. 2 Not being able to open any applications upon restart. ... and on and on. Basically, major system crash after crash.

I went to Windows Setting and in the Update & Security area I recovered the previous version of Windows. I've been able to turn the system on, and work with a variety of programs Corel Draw, Word, Outlook, but everything takes a few minutes to load, instead of the usual few moments.

There are remnants of images from closed applications that I'm not able to remove.

It takes 2 minutes to re-render an image if I zoom in or out.

I'm not sure what's causing these failures, but it didn't happen until the update made changes.

I'm very concerned about reinstalling the newest Windows update, because I installed it twice and had to go backwards twice.

    Thank you

    Robert

FIXED!! Windows 7 sp1 never ends searching for updates

They made it part of the WU client then, or it's two different things doing the same. Too bad you can't download it separately.

  3. Windows 10 and Windows 7 June updates

Earlier in June (this month) Windows 10 Asus X555U went through an update. The update KILLED it so badly that I cannot even switch it on. I've taken it to Asus service center hoping they can revive it.

This laptop is a bit more two years old.

My other is a 2007 Dell Alienware running Windows 7 (I missed the free Windows 10 upgrade and will be doing it soon). On June 15 it had its own update and since then it is
    EXTREMELY SLOW!!

However, in Safe Mode it runs perfectly. So something among whatever else Windows adds in regular mode obviously causing the problem.

Going through the steps suggested by

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-ca/help/10164/fix-windows-update-errors

    No luck so far.

If this doesn't work will think of recovery to a time BEFORE last update.

Any suggestions for Windows 7 update problem?

    Thanks in advance.
