Windows 10: Endless and irritating updates in Windows 11

Microsoft, in its infinite wisdom, has now blocked access to approx. 40% of the jpg files I use in my lectures. Is there any way to retrieve the files? Over the last several changes to Windows: Notepad has become almost unusable for its original purpose as a simple text editor. I used to use it a lot.Search strings in Windows Explorer must be typed in slowly and checked almost character by character to ensure a usable result. This is not helpful when searching large databases, something I do frequently.The contrast level between background and text has become almost impossible to distinguish

Windows 10 endless loop reboot

• Have you checked if the hard disk is set as first boot device in the BIOS?
• Which version of Windows is installed on the computer?
• What did the HP supported suggested you to fix the issue?

endless updating

my nokia N80-1 is updating endless, it stoped on step 3 and now it says do not remove the phone so how can i stop this endless updating or cancell it and start again step by step.

 

Windows 10 update stuck on endless "Retry"

I am trying to install the latest Windows update

... and I am stuck in an endless Retry loop.





Every time it tries to install this update, it fails with this message:

I've rebooted and retried a bunch of times and get the same exact result over and over, stuck on Retry:





I have no idea what to try, or even how to get out of this endless update "problems installing some updates, but we'll try again later" retry loop. Suggestions welcome!

Updates based on the answers and comments:

• This is a wired computer, no wifi, no battery
  
• Plenty of free space on the boot C:\ drive, almost 200GB
  
• There are no removable drives or USB keys attached
  
• Does have multiple drives (boot SSD and two large media HDDs)
  
• sfc /scannow reports good integrity
  
• Machine is Haswell based, 8GB RAM, built in mid 2013
  

I will hopefully be able to provide an answer with the full set of troubleshooting from someone at Microsoft who helpfully assisted me in case anyone else runs into this.
