    Enough with the mandatory updates for **** sake.

    How the hell do I stop the mandatory updates. I'm sick of losing work and progress because Microsoft think they know whats best for me and me set up. The excuse of "some people would fail to install important updates" is ****. Every time windows decides "oh look time for an update" it not only makes me lose work and progress, but it also ABSOLUTELY **** MY PERSONALIZATION SETTINGS! I'm sick and tired of this. Give me a way to deny updates without writing scripts that only work when I'm at my computer and don't give me the "set your off hours to late at night" as that's when I let things run so I'm not wasting time and processing power during the day. I've had enough and if this can't be fixed I'm seriously considering moving from the windows OS to something that respect their consumers and doesn't treat them like children who refuse to take their medicine.

    :)

  2. Sceensaver changes for the sake of it?

    I have now returned to my problematic PC, I've followed your suggested couse of action;

    Fix Windows Update errors by using the DISM or System Update Readiness tool

    As I am no expert, I chose the "Windows Update Troubleshooter" Blue Button, not sure if that is what you intended. I followed all the steps and eventually got to the DISM tool; unfortunately with no success. I contionued
    until I had successfully performed an “in-place upgrade” of Windows 10, again with no luck!

    The next step is a clean install of Windows 10, and I'm afraid that is a step I'm not prepared to take for the sake of a miss-behaving screen saver.

    So unless someone can tell me that they know what is wrong with my installation of Windows, rather than what they think is wrong.... I will be taking no further action.

    But thank you for your efforts.

    Windows Updated(16299.309).KB4088776 Restart is required to complete.

    Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

    Thanks for the suggestions and for the time to respond Enough with the mandatory updates for **** sake. :) Best regards.

    And thanks for the tip of that program, I'll have it on my list.
