Windows 10: Enter key behaves like shift+enter

When doing anything, like typing in Word or typing into the Google search bar, my Enter key doesn't do what it normally would do, like creating a new paragraph in Word or searching in Google. Instead, it acts like shift+enter. This also happens with the on-screen keyboard. I'm using a Surface Laptop 4. So far I have tried the following:- Rebooted- Tried updating drivers they were up to date- Checked if sticky keys is on it itsn't- Checked if the same happens on the OSK it does- Ran the devices troubleshooter through msdt.exe -id DeviceDiagnostic- Checked if there is anything unusual in H

Any suggestion how to remap keyboard [Enter] > [Shift-Enter]?

I've used SharpKeys successfully to remap keys.
- I remapped Delete key to the Insert key when the former was defective
- On another computer, I remapped t to ` [again because a key was not working correctly]
You would remap Shift-Enter to Enter



You can select keys from the list or, as illustrated here, you can select Type key and press the key / key combination you want.

But you do realise that you'll lose the ability to press Enter?
- You don't say why you want to do this so I can only guess that the 'normal' Enter function would sometimes be needed.
- You could also remap Enter to Shift-Enter so you would still have the function available for use.

Thanks again. I have checked out SharpKeys, but I am not sure whether it can handle shift enter.
It would map [Enter] to [Enter] not shift enter.

i checked out PowerToys and successfully remapped the [Enter] key.

To undo this, start Powertoys again, select "Remap a key" - then delete from the list that is there.

Unlike some other keyboards, my keyboard cannot be 'configured'.
I would like to remap the [Enter] key so it sends a [Shift][Enter].
Up front, I know there is an Autohotkey script, but one way or the other it did not always perform the right way.
Never figured out why.

So I am looking for alternatives.
I am not familiar / tried any other software.

Saw tools like SharpKeys, Key Remapper, PowerToys, KeyTweak, Key Mapper.
Probably there are even more of them.
In my case, the only key I would like change is the [Enter] key.

Any suggestions?
